These mid summer to late summer perenniel plants love lots of sunshine and moist, decent soil. Plant about 18" apart. They grow to around 3' tall and will thrive even if neglected. No doubt these plants are the most well-known wildflower bunch in America. They grow along the roadside, in gardens, and in the woods... most everywhere.

Black eyes susan plants must be exposed directly to the sun and need to be planted in average soils, poor soils or even dry soils. You may add fertilizers a couple of times a year, if you want your plant to grow faster. Water rarely.

Black eyes susan plants are easy to care for. They should be seeded in the early spring. They require well drained soil and full sun.

These perennial plants are nearly carefree as long as they have full sun or nearly full sun and soil with good drainage. They seed themselves and can be divided in the fall for an even bigger show the following spring. Seeds can be started indoors 6 weeks before last frost.
