How do you build a dimensional data model without a computer?

It can be done by using a graph on a piece of paper by using a model similar to a pyramid. We need to find the basic information that the model will contain. Then we break the model down into sections by basically pyramiding off the original source. Then we can give the worker a model to work from.

A data modeler should follow a methodology that outlines the decisions he needs to make to complete the database design. Organization where the data is stored is the first key thing to know.
