Question by  Jana23 (9)

How do you become a hairdresser?

A friend is offering to teach me but I don't know if that's legal.

In order to become a hairdresser, you have to attend an accredited beauty school. Your friend could help you get better grades by teaching you, and she could even offer you an internship, but you cannot become certified without going to school.

You must go to school to study cosmotology. There are tests that must be passed in order to gain your license to practice hairdressing.

To work in a legit salon, you need a cosmotogoly lisence. There are many schools you can attend that will teach you everything you need to be successful.

It depends on where you live. In many jurisdictions hairdressing is a trade and requires a combination of classes and on the job training.
