The remote, often called a fob. Is the main way to access it. It should have a locking control, on the remote itself, Or a panic button. Once the car is locked it will be alarmed until a door is opened on the vehicle. You may have a model without a remote. Contact your dealer.

For one thing you can break a window. Another way it to lock the car with the key from the inside and then open the door from the inside without unlocking it with the keys. This should activate your car alarm. Try it to see what happens. It should activate when that happens.
