How do parents justify permissive parenting?

Nowadays, parents doesn't want to be "the bad guys" in their children eyes. Back in time, parents were a figure that was over their kids figure in the power pyramid, but now they're in the same level: parents seem themselves as their kids friends. A friend doesn't draw your limits, neither order you around.

Most parents just want to spoil their children and they hate to tell their children no. Most don't think they're doing anything wrong by giving their children all they can.
