Judgments work the same, regardless of location. It depends on what the judgment is for. A judgment for debt, for example, can result in the attachment of assets, property and/or wages. Any lawsuit ends in a "judgment," which declares which side won.

Judgments are based solely off the discretion of the attending judge, but in general they follow some "guidelines" for each ruling.
