How do I trim ingrown claws on my cat?

Unless you can safely trim the curled nail yourself with cutting into the "quick" causing pain and bleeding,not to mention you getting scratched or traumatizing your animal,you must take it to the vet who will lightly sedate the animal so he can do it without damage to the healthy claw.

If the nail is grown into the pad reversed, take the cat to a vet. This requires opening the pad area for cutting, removal and is usually under anesthesia.

You need to do this very carefully to avoid the cat scratching and hurting you and to avoid hurting the cat. It would probably be easier to take the cat into the vet for the claws to be trimmed in this case.

Trimming things from cats can be hard because they are always moving the best thing to do is to do it when they are sleeping and clip them.
