Best treatment for the facet hypertrophy is to keep the spine as stationary as possible during recovery. The hypertrophy may require surgery if the rest does not allow it to heal on its own, immobilization may be called for by the physician who may recommend a back brace to keep the possture straight and allow limited movement.

The best way to treat L4-L5 facet hypertrophy is the same way as you would treat any joint or other Orthopedic issue, see an Orthopedic surgeon, not a chiropractor.
