What have you been feeding the fish? It may be bloated or over fed causing it to be sluggish. Try changing the water, about 25% and checking for disease.

Well first of all, don't force him to eat if he doesn't want to. Uneaten food in the tank will make matters worse. If he has ich (looks like sugar crystals) treat for that. If not, use a general antibiotic. All treatments can be found at your local pet store. Before adding to tank, remove all filter media during treatment.

Slowly increase the water temperature to 82 degress. Boil all pieces of the tank, such as the filter and decor to removes paracites and fugus.

Try an approx 50% water change twice daily. Check for high ammonia level. You might also adding salt (1/2 tsp per gallong of new water). Try some Melafix.

Oscar fish will hate change. If it is unhappy it will not eat. Be patient and offer foods like Cichlid pellets. pestacides and fertilizers should be away from them.
