Default means that a debt was not satisfied. A lawsuit for a judgment then allows the creditor to pursue pay by attaching wages, bank accounts, etc. To stop a judgement, make an arrangement to take care of the obligation immediately.

The only way to stop a judgment in default is to find and then file proof that you do not owe what is owed. Another option is to pay off the debt you owe.

A motion can be filed to set aside a judgment in default, provided that certain criteria are met (usually a fault in service or notice). Consult an attorney.

You can try calling the creditor's lawyer and try to come to an feasible agreement, but you have waited too long. With an attorney's advice you may try filing an amendment, but be aware, the judge will be cognizant that you have been served and advised throughout, and will want to know why you didn't respond in a timely manner.
