First, take your dog to the vet to make sure there isn't something serious wrong with him such as food poisoning or an illness. Try changing his food, he may be allergic to what he is eating now. Feed him a mix of rice and plain crumbled cooked hamburger. Give Peptobismol at the advice of your vet.

If your dog has had this problem for some time as indicated it would be wise to take it to the vets office. If it is not a long standing problem you can boil hamburger meat drain the fat and add some white cooked rice. This should help within a couple of days.

The dog will probably need a special diet. Talk to a vet to make sure that the dog is not sick. If the dog is not, ask the vet what diet he or she would recommend after telling him what you are currently feeding the dog at this current time.

If your dog is experiencing chronic diarrhea, the only way to stop it is to figure out the root of the problem. Have you switched foods recently? Or fed him human food? Are there any plants, indoors or outdoors, that he has been eating? All these things can cause your canine to have an upset stomach.
