To replace a tie rod you have to remove the connecting bolts from each end. Then you can pop in the new tie rod. It should be rather straight forward.

You need to remove the cotter pin on the tie rod and remove the castle nut. Then use a puller and pop it out and replace it.

The tie rod has castle nuts with kotter pins holding the tie rod in the proper position. You will have to make sure you adjust the tie rod to the proper setting or the vehicle may not work properly. You may also need a special tool to remove the rod which can be rented at the auto parts store.

Remove the cotter key using pliers. Remove the castle nut using socket wrench. Screw the new tie-rod. Screw the castle nut into the tie rod.

The rod has got castle nuts and kotter pins. remove them and replace the tie rod. You are good to go.

You should take it in to have it fixed, That would be the best thing to do to fix it.
