You're going to need a C-wrench for this job, climb under the bed of your diesel assuming it's a truck, the lift pump is located just under your door panel. You're going to need a powerful drill and some patience.

The lift pump is an electric pump located within the fuel tank and is very similar to a fuel pump in a gasoline powered vehicle. You must drop the tank to access the pump.

Need C-wrench, 3/8"-drive ratchet,extensions to align and 1/2" or 9/16" sockets and need a powerful drill to do this job. Climb under diesel bed as if its a truck. The lift pump is under your door panel. If job seems complicated get a experienced mechanic to do job.

First of all, we should have the following tools such as 3/8"-drive ratchet, some extensions to align and 1/2" or 9/16" sockets. In addition these also want open-end wrenches. By using above tools, remove the lift pump and replace it with new one. this cost may come around $35.
