You have to find where the relay or fuse is located for the ranger. The owners manual will help. the relay or fuse will be a snap or clamp replacemant

The fuel pump relay, depending on the year, will be located under the hood - either by itself or in a fuse/relay block. The wire harness unplugs with a simple pull unless a catch holds it.

You are going to need to find the fuse box and pull out the old relay and install the new one. If that does not work you are going to need to replace the actual fuel pump. The relay is going to be found in the fuse box under your hood.

A relay should typically just be replaced. They are basically a magnetic switched used to control high voltage circuits with lower voltage ones. Like any electrical component they can fail from time to time. However they are not rebuild-able. They are cheap and pretty easy to locate so just replace the broken one with an equivalent replacement.

To make sure the relay is faulty, provide 12V directly from the car's battery to the fuel pump. If it works and the rest of the installation including fuses and wiring are ok, you need to replace the relay. A faulty relay can't be repaired.
