First Make sure your Vehicle is leveled of the ground. Second locate your catalytic converter (between the engine and the muffler). Third Spray all nuts, bolts and clamps with a penetrating lubricant. And Fourth remove the catalytic converter by removing the nuts and bolts, with a wrench or ratchet.

Well typically there are no bolts on the catalytic converter. Usually they are weld to the exhaust to prevent leaks. Sometimes there is a heat shield clamped on but that is usually it. Unless it has been replace and was installed with clamp but the should be easy to remove.

The bolts on an catalytic converter are usually extremely corroded. All the bolts, nuts, and hanger clamps should be heavily sprayed with penetrating lubricant and let rest for ten minutes to help loosen them. Use a ratchet to get extra torque on the bolts. After they are all removed you may need to hammer the catalytic converter free.

Use the correct size wrench to remove bolts. If they are stuck try some oil or some penetrating oil. If they still won't come loose saw or torch them off.
