My mom says I have to get rid of my turtle as I do not care for it but I do not want to just let it go.

Animals hate travel, so think local. Ask around: friends, neighbors, a local school or nature center. No luck? Call your local humane society. Still nothing? Google "turtle adoption" for contacts.

You can either surrender the turtle to an reptile shelter or you can post an ad for it on an online site such as craigslist.
