Try to empty out anything that has stagnant (still) water they breed around still water sources, you could also purchase some citronella candles, they add a decent mood and keep the mosquitoes at a distance. If all else seems to fail reverting back to bug spray could allow you to enjoy your lawn until it wears off.

The only sure way to enjoy the outdoors without mosquitoes is to be in a screen enclosed area. Otherwise, topical products(preferably non-toxic,natural products such as Beat It) are necessary. Stopping the mosquitoes from breeding IN your yard can be very helpful. Consider placing a "mosquito dunk" in any standing water in your yard! Hardware stores like Lowe's carry dunks.

A bug zapper, off burning coils, Tiki candles, you also do not want to let water sit in ANYTHING, a bird bath a bucket, I just get some OFF and spray myself before I head out the door. I am allergic to mosquitos so I have to be well prepared

There are several ways to keep mosquitoes out of your yard. They make several different types of treatments. The best I have found is something you can buy at any lawn and garden store its a chemical you attach to your hose as you water your lawn and it will kill off insects in your yard.

There are candles and electronic devices made now that combat mosquitoes. The mosquitoes stay out of the area of the scent or noise. Depending on the size of your lawn, either of these should work. Also, investing in a bat house can help immensely. Bats love to eat mosquitoes.

Spray yourself with bug spray when you go out, also, light citronella candles or torches, placing them in various locations in order to maximize their effectiveness.

You can get a bug spray that contains citronella oil and spray it on your lawn. They hate that or you can get a non dangerous lawn poison for bugs.
