How do I get rid of yellow armpit stains?

I also wouldn't mind knowing how to avoid getting them.

One of the best remedies for getting rid of armpit stains is baking soda. Use 4 tablespoons mixed with quarter cup water and scrub into the stain with an old toothbrush. Let it sit for about and hour and then wash and dry the garment. Avoid hot water if possible.

I'm really not sure how you can get rid of the stains but I remember my mother telling me to never wash shirts that have those stains in hot water and to never dry them in a machine because the heat will cause the stains to set in completely.

Well this is gonna sound odd but my great aunt used to use a mixture of vodka and water in a spray bottle. I don't know what amounts she used but she would spray it on to the stains about half an hour before she washed the clothing.

That does sound strange but I checked and it says it is a remedy for armpit stains so I may have to give it a try!  add a comment
