How do I get rid of Sand hornets in my yard?

Sand hornets, also called ground hornets, are wasps that make homes in the ground. Keeping grass cut and dry helps as does organic insecticides. Fruit and vegetable plants on property help control the problem as does extra flower garden mulching. If using insecticides, wait till almost dark to do this as the sand hornets will be nesting.

Treatment for Sand hornets is by poisoning around their nest with an insecticidal powder. They are dormant at night so that would be the best time to apply the insecticide. Such poison can be found at a gardening center or hardware store. Most of these feed on insects or spiders, so weigh the ecological consequences

You should get a book on them, it should tell you what you need to do to get ride of them.
