Make sure she is in tip top health. Get her checked up by the Vet and have her up to date on all of her shots. Make sure she is not underweight, but at a weight that is healthy and normal.

The best thing to do to prepare your cat for pregnancy is to make sure she has the proper nutrician and vitamins and checked by the vet for good health.

Make sure she is in prime health, feed her a high quality food and make sure worming and fleaing is up to date as you will not be able to do this while she is pregnant and get her vet checked.

There is nothing you do to get the cat ready and unless you have a purebred cat, if anything, you will want to get it fixed so it doesn't have kittens. There are way too many of them now being dumped off someplace. Fix your cat before it has its first heat.

You should start by taking her to the vet to make sure she doesn't have any latent conditions that might affect pregnancy. You should also sure that she is getting a proper diet and routine exercise before she becomes pregnant. Other than that, ordinary care should be maintained. Cats have had kittens since time immemorial, so don't worry too much.
