At 38 weeks, the baby is not fully developed and it is NOT safe to be induced. It will always be up to the doctor to decide what is best medically for you and the baby. But, a doctor will generally not induce until the baby is fully developed and you are closer to your due date.

Well, if the child is healthy then yes, you can be induced into labor, however, many doctors will feel this is entirely unnececary since the typical pregnancy is forty weeks.

Unless there is a valid medical reason to induce labor, it's usually best for nature to take it's course.

Maybe if you are already significantly overdue. But it is best to let it happen naturally as long as there is not some sort of danger to the baby.

I don't know, but I would love to be induced at 37 weeks myself. I am going to ask at my next appt.
