The IRS will provide you with copies of any tax returns you have filed, but they will not be "certified". Complete and mail in form # 4506 and enclose your check for $39 per return year you want. You can also call 1 800 829-1040, but payment will still be required.

For a certified income tax return copy, use IRS Form 4506. Read and follow directions carefully. Make sure to check the box for question 6, and include a $57.00 fee.

Go to the IRS web site and download the form to request tax returns for past years. Fill it out and include the fee. IRS will mail you your returns.
