How do I find out about a NYPD investigative review?

Are these records public?

You can request information through the Freedom of Information Act. You may have to pay a small fee for copying or postage, depending on the length of the documents and to where you want them sent. You may only request information on matters or cases that are closed. Ongoing investigations are not public.

I am assuming you are NYPD personnel, as these reviews only apply to that. You need to go to your representative and have them guide you. You should already be represented, if not, make sure you get your representation! That's what you pay your dues for!

Investigative reviews are subject to open records requests. The only exception to this is if the matter is still under investigation or a court has ordered the reports sealed. You may make a request for the review pursuant to the open records act or similar statute in your jurisdiction. They may charge a fee for its production.
