How do I crop pictures in Adobe Illustrator?

The best way to crop photos is not through Illustrator but through Photoshop. You can crop the photo in PS and then import it directly into Illustrator.

Open the image and select a shapes tool, like a rectangle. Select the area you wish to crop. Using the Shift key, select the image and the shape. Go to Object and select Clipping mask, and then hit Make. Alternatively, you could easily do the same in Paint (if on a PC), by selecting an area and hitting Crop.

The best way to do this would actually be in Adobe Photoshop. Open your file in the program an select the "Rectangular Selection" tool. Select the area that you want to keep, right click, select crop image. Done!

To crop pictures, click on the button that looks like a little square that is diagonal. Clicking this you can use that to select the area that you would like to crop out. Then you will right click on Adobe and press the button that says 'crop'. This should crop your work.
