How do I connect a laptop to an amp?

Your laptop probably has a 1/8th inch plug for earphones. You will need a cord that has the 1/8th inch jack at one end and standard RCA plugs for your amp at the other end (or whatever it is that your amp has for input).

Well I assume you can buy an adapter that will convert the 3. 5mm headphone out to the same size as the input of the amp.

If you are wanting to connect your laptop to an amp you will first need to make sure that it is compatible.
