Question by  Hannible (67)

How do I choose a photographer to take professional pictures of my family?

I want to get a portrait before my oldest graduates high school.

You have to research the photographer ahead of time. A photographer with an acceptable portfolio will have pictures that focus on the features of the child, not the background, and will be bright and crisp, not blurry. The prices should be acceptable.

Ask around to see if anyone you know has had portraits taken recently, and whether they were satisfied. Plus, every photographer has a website you can check for style.

You could look online. I think online looking is the best because you can see reviews of the photographer or see their work.

You need to meet with a potential photographer before hiring them. Ask to see samples of their work, and ensure they take a quality style of picture that you like.
