How can I get started in the business of writing comedy one liners?

The best way is to start writing one-liners and deliver them at open-mic comedy nights. If your stuff is funny, people will laugh, and eventually you might get a paying gig. Once you are earning money and have built a reputation as a funny person, you might be able to sell some jokes to your fellow comics.

Doing an internet search would be the easiest way to get fast results. If you find nothing on the internet I would recommend going to a local comedy club and asking someone there for any advice they might have. Hopefully they will be able to connect you with comedians who will share their advice and experience with you!

You could start performing in a stand-up comedy club. Then, promote your performance to those in the industry and then they might give you a job.

You'll need a lot of jokes! Carry a tape recorder or pen and paper and write down EVERY joke you think of. You may not find them too funny, but someone might be willing to pay for them. Start to submit your one liners to companies that buy them (check ). Companies usually ask for 50 jokes at a time.

But you should never lose hope and keep investigating what people likes these days which can make them laugh. As you improve your material, sign up for higher level gigs and keep working your way up. You never know who is going to be in the audience!

There are many different sites online as well as online blogs that cater to comdey one liners. It is a good idea to submit writing to many different joke sites online that seek one liners as well. It is recommended that you become proficient in english composition one and two, these are basic college courses.
