Make sure you have your proper measurements first. Choose your wood. Cut the 4 pieces to length desired. Then you will need to cut a 45 degree edge on each end using a mitre box. These should be glued together with wood glue and held with a clamp overnight.

It depends on the size and type of frame you would like. Basically you have a few options. Using a sturdy set of wood, oak or some other, or metal. Size and cut it as you see fit.

Go to your public library and get a book on how to make a quilt frame. They will give you instructions on the type of wood and the scale you want to make the frame.
