How do I build a garment rack?

For the easiest garment rack, get a wooden or metal pole from the hardware store, and hang it in a corner of a room. You can get metal brackets for the ends of the pole from the hardware store as well. The type of brackets that are used as flagpole braces work well.

The easiest way would be to get about three brackets with hooks on the end of them and mount them to the wall to support a clothes rod. At each end of the rod, drill a hole and place a nut and bolt through it so the rod won't slide.

There's a lot of good plans for this on the internet or in good basic books you can get from Borders. Or, make your plan, choose some strong dowels and 1 bys and build to suit your needs and fancy.
