Depending on your geographical location look for a main house trap in your basement, looks like a U bend with two clean out caps. Or look outside of your house for a black rubber or brass clean out cap.
Follow the pipes from your sink until they merge with the bigger pipes from the toilet and bathtub. Just after the junction will be the main drain, wrench will open.
