This won't hurt the baby. Put Vaseline on your belly, take the strips of cloth and soak in plaster, lay strips vertical. They sell kits at Toys R Us also.
Belly cast kits are safe for the baby. You wrap strips of cloth around the belly greased with Vaseline and paint on the glue to set the cast in place.
