I am guessing you are referring to a siemens HKO hands free car kit. They are known for making sub par kits and judging by the price, there are many other better options at better prices.
HKO hits do indeed properly function when added to the drivetrain/suspension mechanism in the vehicle. The kit is designed to improve your car just that much more.
