How common are steroids in baseball?

Will more players be admitting to steroid use not that Mark McGuire has?

If you've ever played baseball competitively, it takes a toll on the body. Unlike other major sports, baseball is played six out of seven days a week. This means you put a lot of stress on your body. Steroids aid in recovery phase, so they've become very popular. I'd say many more players will come out stating use.

Baseball now has testing for steroids, so it shouldn't be as common as it was during the late 80's and early 90's.

The number of users is not entirely known, but the number is likely in the hundreds. It's likely that as players retire more will come clean about their steroid use.

I can only answer this from my opinion. The admission of Mark McGuire was no surprise to anyone. I can't see many more people coming out and admitting use unless proof comes out that they did. I think steroid use was much more common than anyone would hope.

There is a reason that the home run numbers have gone down in the past few years. Everyone wants to crucify the steroid users but what most people don't get is that it wasn't illegal back then. Nobody can say the body should look like Canseco's or Sosa's did.
