Steroids are only used for treating prostate cancer when hormone treatments stop working. Its use will not cure the cancer but can shrink it and stop growth for some time.

Steroids are antiinflammatory and life saving drugs only and if given for some acute condition, the intention is to help the patient. Steroids are generally given for a very short period and dose is tapered off immediately after response is achieved. Doctor will start reducing dose after desired result comes.

I would think that they do not. I have heard that steroids can actually excacerbate the symptoms of prostate issues and have been linked to causing prostate issues.

Usually not. Steroids are for inflamation and swelling and usually not a treatment for prostate issues. It depends on what the problem is.
