You can get an unlock code from your service provider or you could also download sim unlock codes from the internet.

Enter your unlock code when prompts "Special Code Required." then press "Enable." Wait for the message to finish reading "Authenticating code." then it is unlocked.

Unlocking an old T-Mobile Sidekick is tricky business. The first thing you need to do is boot it with a custom OS which is designed to take control of your Sidekick. You can load it through the SIM card.

If the device has been paid off and the account is in good standing with T-Mobile, they may give you the unlock code for the device at their discretion. Otherwise, unlocking Sidekicks is not as easy and unlocking most smartphones, although there are companies that will give you the unlock code for a small fee.
