If he or she isn't physical with you or talks about love interests in front of you that's a hint. If he doesn't pay for meals that can be a hint too. (although some guy friends still do pay for my meals even though we're just friends)

If you're unsure just sit down with this person and ask. Never assume where your relationship is because one person could view the relationship as just friends while the other person is under the assumption that they are dating.

Show a little hit that you are interested - try holding their hand, a kiss on the cheek, or even asking.
