Heck Weeping oaks practically care for themselves except for weeds and watering. Make sure it gets good water supply via irrigation in the summer and gradually decrease the amount of water as summer wanes. Experts advise against drip irrigation so avoid that.

Make sure you do not use any insecticides or anti-fungal treatments on your oak. Oak trees need an amount of fungus in order to survive and it usually is good fungus. If your oak tree has a bad insect problem spraying will not solve the problem. Tree will need diagnosis.

Basically insects are normal on trees but if there is an over-population then there is a problem with the tree right? Makes sense to me!  add a comment

Well I learned one thing the hard way. Weeds kill weeping oak trees! You want to get rid of all the weeds and remove any non-native grasses from below the tree around the root ball area. If you don't they will slowly strange the life out of your lovely tree.
