The piercing can take 2 to 12 months to heal so it is important to take care of the piercing. Wash the piercing every day in the shower. Soak the piercing twice a day in a saline solution. Keep your hair tied back away from the piercing to avoid contamination.

Keep it clean and try not to knock it. Use 3% hydrogen peroxide to clean it 1-2 time daily for about a month & it should heal nicely.

Never clean it with alcohol, it will only dry out the new piercing and it will take longer to heal. Instead use a salt or saline solution to clean it.

Clean it twice a day using a solution of one teaspoon Epsom salt mixed with 1/4 cup of warm water and dipping a Qtip in it, then clean it.

It is very simple to care for a rook piercing. First and foremost never touch a fresh piercing with dirty hands, this can cause infection. Also by some kind of gentle antiseptic, they usually can recommend on at the piercing parlor, or use witch hazel and clean your piercing at least twice a day. Lastly rotate in slightly daily.
