I think if you are going to set of a dance party for adults you need to select a theme or era. For example if you were a teen in the 80's then go with 80's music. Choose a good dj and send out invites with the specific details. Decorate according to theme.

A good way to set up for a dance party would be to make sure that you have a dance floor first of all. You will also want to make sure that you have good music (usually hip hop) with a good beat that people can move too.
