Disco. The most funky dance beats seem like disco. Beegees, Jacksons,. My personal opinion. Hip hop from the 90s ,but all hip hop could be dance music.

If you're having trouble getting people to dance just turn on "Y.M.C.A." by the Village People. From there go to some of Michael Jackson's music like "Billie Jean" and "Thriller". Chubby Checker's song "The Twist" is good as is "Twist and Shout" by the Beatles. k.C. and the Sunshine Band's "Get Down Tonight". Anything with a good beat.
