Use cotton ball dipped in peroxide. Blot stain, placing white cloth under rug. Repeat several times. Gently rub laundry soap into stain. Let set 2 hours, then wash in machine.
There are many different cleaners on the market that will actually lift the stain out of your throw rug. You may need to do it a few times to get the stain out completely if it has been stained for a long period of time. Give them a try and they will work.
