yes, well you have to have the right conditions ,clean out the feces, few drops of water, ventilation, leaves.

Almost every type of caterpillar will eventually turn into a butterfly, and when this happens they must be let free, or will probably dye. Even a smaller terrarium is fine, be sure to fill it with edible leaves and twigs it can make a cocoon on. Ensure fresh air frequently.

Air the container that the Caterpillar will be in. Change your Caterpillars leaves occasionally. Place a few water drops on a leaf. When your Caterpillar hits the Cocoon stage you will no longer be placing water or leaves inside the container. Then your moth or butterfly will emerge.

There are these huge net things you can buy that will keep caterpillars healthy, and then provide enough space for them when they become butterflies. (You can also use large plastic containers or jars if you want. ) They eat leaves and like to climb around on sticks.
