To install a ceiling fan, you must first remove the existing light fixture. Once removed you can install your fan by matching existing wires to the fan wires.
If replacing an existing fan, just follow the instructions provided with the fan. If new, an electrician can put in the electrical fairly quickly at a resonable cost.
Many new ceiling fans have remotes. If the ceiling fan you like does not have a remote package built in Hunter company makes an add on kit that install very easily with any brand ceiling fan. A big advantage of the kit is dual control of fan and light from only one switched circuit.
First ensure that all electricity is off by turning breaker off. Assemble fan, set remote and hand held device in same frequency,Fit downrod in place, match wires, attach brackets, screw in place.
Run the wiring through the ceiling, you also must purchase a ceiling fan that has a remote with it. I am unware of being able to hook any random ceiling fan with a ceiling fan remote. Finding one that comes with a remote is a good idea. Stores like home depot are good.
