Babies usually sit at abou 5 months, it helps to put them in that position with support, they make a special pillow that is used for breat feeding and sitting, in is in the shape of a letter c, a baby that aan not sit should always have an adult near when propped

Babies need lots of practice sitting supported before they can sit on their own, so a good idea is to sit your baby in your lap. Try reading him or her a book to keep them interested. There are also products like the Boppy and Bumbo seat for babies that help infants learn to sit.

At about 6 months of age baby learns to sit. You can help a baby to sit in a corner of sofa with support on two sides and can keep a pillow in front.

Wait 3 months. Seriously babies develop at whatever pace they feel like. A little practice is always nice too. If you notice that your baby only leaves their infant bucket car seat for diaper changes, you should consider getting them out and exercising.
