The Leyland Cypress is a low-maintenance type of tree; it tolerates poor soil and drought, air pollution, heavy pruning and any level of sun exposure. It's important to pay attention to pruning it, though -- at three to four feet of growth a year it can easily overwhelm your yard.

cyprus are slow growers, and need a fair amount of water. they do need light but will grow in shady areas as well. It probably doesnt need any sort of fertilizer for it, but if you are in need of indepth care the best place to go would be a nursery and express any concerns you have

The Leyland Cypress does not require special care. After planting a young one, you want to prevent it from drying out by maintaining soil moisture.

A leyland cyprus is a good kind of tree as it could serve the purpose of giving your area privacy thorugh cover. On the other hand, it is a fast growing kind of tree that in a year's time it could grow 4 feet. It would be better to always check on it for pruning.

Plant your tree 6 weeks before the first frost and center the root ball in the middle of the hole.
