Parvo can stay in the environment for up to 10 years. It's best to bring only fully vaccinated dogs into the house for the next decade. You can bleach nonporous surfaces and bedding, but there is no effective way to get it out of carpet, dirt, or other such surfaces.

You need to make sure that the dog that has parvo has been taken to the vet and being cured of the disease. After that, you make sure to clean out any and all food bowls, and put bleach out on your yard. You also have to keep the dog inside for a few weeks.

It is hard to get rid of. but a bleach solution made from 4 to 5 ozs in 1 gallon of water can be used.

Consult your Vet IMMEDIATELY. All fecal-matter must be removed, all items that came in contact with the infected animal must be tossed and replaced, or washed with bleach. Cover entire floor/furniture with a 10/1 water/bleach mix. Do NOT allowed unvaccinated dogs around for 1 entire year.
