Adjust the pH of the pool water to a neutral pH around 7. Next, apply solid chlorine to the affected area with an abrasive brush. Repeat the chlorine scrub a couple of times per day until the algae has been removed.

Black algae is sometimes pretty stubborn. I'd recommend a copper based algaecide then shock the heck out of it. Some people don't like to use copper because it can stain and turn hair green, but it is really safe and effective if used properly.

Using a wire pool brush thoroughly scrub the black algae, and then rub a chlorine tab directly on the spot (plaster pools only). Wait a few minutes then brush the area again. Maintain proper chemical levels, brush and vacuum often.

Shock the crap out of it. Make sure your ph is right. I recommend for a 20 by 40 pool to dump in 25 pounds of shock to start.

Well you just have to dump a lot of chlorine into the pool to kill the algae and it will help.

dd bleaching powder to the water filter or you can get liquid chlorine in stores which you can mix directly.
