How can I get my pet turtle to eat?

Your turtle may be in 'hibernation mode' because he is cold. That would cause him to be too sleepy to even eat. Also, he may just want to hibernate because he knows it is winter, regardless of how cold he is.

If he normally eats and has stopped eating, you need to take him to a veterinarian. Also, are you feeding him the right foods? What kind of turtle is he? Get books on turtles and find out what your turtle should be eating. I work at a vet and if he isn't eating, it's best to be seen.

It depends on your turtle's eating habits. The best solution is to talk to a veternarian. You may offer your turtle, depending on the type of turtle, more prefered foods such as snails. Also, you can force your turtle to eat by getting the turtle to hiss and then forcing the food.
