How can I get medicare to pay for a nursing home?

Medicare will cover the first 21 days of a nursing home and you have to have a need to be there Afterwards you will need meidcaid or other payment source.

You need Medicare Part A and you meet the eligibility requriements. Call your local Medicare office for details. Once in a Nursing Home you must continue to meet Medicare Criteria.

If you are presently covered by Medicare, you likely will be able to get short term ooverage - I believe that the time limit is on the order of 100 days. If your question is related to long term care, you have a problem. In that case, Medicaid is responsible. But, only after very restrictive financial standards are met.
