Well you need to be good at communicating. Take a communications course and also know selling techniques as well. If you've worked in customer service then it's a great field to get into . Volunteer in the field and get some direction to determine whether this field is the right fit for you.

First and foremost learn about the industry. There are different types of consulting firms. Technical, management, and financial. They are all very competative and you can make lots of money!

Well to answer a board question requires a board answer. First, Learn something and learn it that you are one few that know as much as you do. Second, develop an ability to answer problems in a quick and effective manner. Find someone to pay you for what you know.
